Sandy Wilson’s all-singing all-dancing love letter to 1920s musical comedies returns for the first major London revival in over 10 years. Set in Madame Dubonnet’s finishing school in the south of France, these perfect young ladies burst into song at the least provocation, and forbidden boy friends are forever popping through the French windows to sing and dance with them. Since its premiere in 1953, this light-hearted soufflé of a show has elighted audiences worldwide and has become one of the most well-loved British musicals of all time.

I have been asked if we could visit this award-winning theatre for some time. It is an intimate space, seating just 180 people, and so proves very difficult to get tickets in large numbers. The Menier Chocolate Factory has built an enviable reputation since opening in 2004 winning many Olivier Awards with numerous transfers into the West End and onto Broadway. It’s productions are highly thought of and they attract quality actors every time. On this occasion, with the show not starting until 8pm, there should be time to eat beforehand for those that wish to.
