Warners @ Cricket St Thomas

With their nightly entertainment, daily leisure activities and great reputation for food and customer service, it’s no wonder I have had people ask me if I could arrange a trip to a Warner’s Hotel. I’m pleased to say I have been able to organise a 4 night / 5 day stay at their hotel in Cricket St Thomas, Somerset. You may be familiar with the hotel and the fact that the original house part of the hotel featured in the highly successful comedy series To The Manor Born.
Our break will see us benefit from all the usual things you would expect on a Warner Leisure Hotels holiday but in addition we will include two half day excursions and will come home via Winchester at which time we will be able to enjoy their highly regarded Cathedral Christmas Markets. So all the quality but with none of the hassle of organising things yourself. All you have to do is decide if you would like to join us and then which standard of room you would like.
The cost of the trip will be £449 per person based on two sharing a twin or double standard room (Single occupancy supplement of £160, just two places remain). Please see below for the itinerary and what is included in the price.
We already have enough interest to know that the trip will definitely happen and so, if you wish to book on the short break, please contact me as below and we can get you booked in and sort a deposit payment. The balance payment will be due 12 weeks prior to our departure.
Monday – will find us leaving from behind the Dorking Halls at 9am, with a view to avoiding the worst of the rush hour traffic. On our way to the hotel, we will take a mid-morning/lunch break in Salisbury. With the opportunity to just grab a tea or coffee or a light lunch, there will be time for a little sight-seeing as well. Enjoy the wide variety of shops or visit the Cathedral, the choice will be yours. Just after lunch we will continue to the hotel, arriving at a convenient time to check in, the rest of the day and evening will be yours to acquaint yourself with the hotel and its surroundings, enjoy the facilities, dinner and of course the evening entertainment.
Tuesday – today we will offer an optional excursion to a yet to be decided place of interest. It is likely to be an appealing town or city within a 60-minute drive from the hotel. For those that wish to spend more time at the hotel itself, that is fine too, the excursion isn’t compulsory.
Wednesday – our mid-week optional excursion will be to the Cathedral City of Wells. In addition to the Cathedral itself you might like to visit the moated Bishops Palace or just stroll the streets and enjoy the beauty and intimacy of this small City. Wednesday traditionally sees Wells host its mid-week market. Featuring fine foods, fruit and vegetables, lovely clothing, handbags & purses, books and jigsaw puzzles, there are also many other unusual items suitable for Christmas and Birthday presents.
Thursday – for our final full day at the hotel we will remain at the hotel, giving us the chance to enjoy any final activities or perhaps fit some in that we have been building up to all week! This will also give us plenty of time to pack without a mad panic.
Friday – leaving after a leisurely breakfast we will head for Winchester where we will spend a few hours, enough time to have something to eat if we wish and to explore the city centre. Of course, the Cathedral takes pride of place and if previous years are anything to go by, whilst we visit, they will be staging their Cathedral Christmas Markets.
