Antwerp is Belgium’s second city and its colourful Christmas Market is held in the picturesque old town centred on the Grote Markt (main square) and spreading over to fill the surrounding maze of mediaeval streets.
But, aside from its Christmas Market, Antwerp offers a marvellous array of shopping opportunities and a fantastic range of restaurants, cafes and bars, many of which stay open late into the night.
We would further add that Antwerp boasts some great cultural attractions and world class museums & galleries.
The 4* Lindner Antwerp
The 4* Lindner is a deluxe business class hotel located in the city centre, within walking distance of the main shopping streets and the old town that hosts the Christmas Market, although taxis and the metro station 50m from the hotel offer a handy alternative.
As for the bedrooms, all offer a very high level of comfort, multi-channel tvs and free wifi. The Lindner also boasts a stylish bar, while breakfast is a continental style buffet.
The Itinerary
Friday: After leaving Dorking at 07.00 the coach drives to Antwerp to arrive by mid-late afternoon, allowing for a comfort stop en route. After checking in at your city centre hotel, the remainder of the day is free. The shops will stay open until 19.00, and the Christmas market until 21.00. You will also find that Antwerp offers a great range of restaurants, cafes and bars.
Saturday: Today is completely free for shopping & sightseeing.
Sunday: Departing the hotel after breakfast the coach starts the journey home. En route to Calais the coach will detour for an extended lunch / shopping break in the historic city of Bruges which will also be hosting its colourful Christmas Market when you visit. From here the coach will drive back to Calais. The anticipated time of arrival back at the Dorking Halls is 20.30.
