If you would prefer to just spend the evening in London, then what better place to choose than in and around Covent Garden. With some of the best shopping in London and arguably the most festive setting, Covent Garden is the centre of an array of festive possibilities. With Christmas Market Stalls abound and an ice rink just across the road, an evening based around Covent Garden really will get you in the festive spirit.

Somerset House will host its annual ice rink, whilst Christmas Market stalls will pop up in Covent Garden itself as well as across Waterloo Bridge on the Southbank. If you fancy venturing further afield Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square are also worth visiting at Christmastime. Both host Christmas Markets with the latter host to the world-famous Christmas tree.
