The King and I

Broadway’s The Lincoln Theater multi-award winning production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s The King and I returns to London in the New Year, this time at the Dominion Theatre, for a very limited 6 week run.

Starring Call The Midwife’s Helen George as Anna, following the 2023 nationwide tour, she will be joined by renowned Broadway performer Darren Lee as the King of Siam.

Set in 1860’s Bangkok, the musical tells the story of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna, a British schoolteacher whom the modernist King, in an imperialistic world, brings to Siam to teach his many wives and children.

This gloriously lavish production is brought to the stage by an internationally renowned creative team under Tony Award-winning director Bartlett Sher (South Pacific / My Fair Lady / To Kill a Mockingbird) The King & I will feature a world-class company of over 50 West End and Broadway performers and a full-scale orchestra.

Often regarded as one of the greatest musicals from the golden age of musicals – with one of the finest scores ever written The King & I includes songs such as “Whistle a Happy Tune”, “Getting to Know You” and of course “Shall We Dance”.
