Join us for what should be a wonderful day, from beginning to end.

Celebrating 60 years of service this year, what better time to experience a hovercraft journey from Southsea, Portsmouth to Ryde on the Isle of Wight.

Our day starts by leaving the Dorking Halls at 8am when we head to Southsea to embark our hovercraft. Just 10 minutes later we find ourselves already at Ryde. Surely the quickest and best value way to cross the Solent, and what an experience.

If the crossing has whetted your appetite, subject to there being enough interest, why not join us on an optional behind the scenes tour. Lasting 60 minutes, find out more about the crafts themselves, the history of hovercraft travel, and pose any questions you might have to one of the experienced team.

If you just fancy a day out by the seaside, then we should have around 5 hours on the Isle of Wight. With beautiful sandy beaches and a lovely promenade to stroll along, Ryde has everything you need. From fish & chips to a local pub lunch and wonderful independent cafés and restaurants, you will be spoilt for choice.

If you wish to explore further afield, the hovercraft port is ideally situated to catch the local buses. Head for somewhere specific, or just take a bus round the island, hopping on and off as you please. Just be sure to be back in time for our return hovercraft flight back to the mainland!

Taking just 10 minutes again on our return flight to Southsea, we anticipate being back to Dorking at about 6.45pm.
