For the first time ever, I thought I’d see what interest there might be for a trip out during the lull between Christmas and New Year, and what better option than a traditional Pantomime at one of our favourite venues.

With a shorter journey time to and from Richmond Theatre there should be plenty of time for people to schedule in lunch before we enjoy the Pantomime. Richmond offers plenty of options when it comes to restaurants with many just a short walk from the theatre.

Cinderella boasts an amazing cast with Helen George taking on the role of The Fairy Godmother. Making her pantomime debut, Helen Geroge is best known for playing the role of Trixie Franklin in Call the Midwife. She also starred in The King & I in the West End which proved so popular we took two coaches to see it. Charlie Stemp is a long-time favourite of ours and will star as Buttons. Having first discovered Charlie in Half A Sixpence at Chichester, we have seen him since in many a Panto at the Palladium and also back at Chichester and in the West End in Crazy For You. Charlie has performed in Hello Dolly on Broadway and is an Olivier Award nominee. And then there is the national treasure and British icon, Basil Brush. Basil Brush in no stranger to Pantomime, as you can imagine, and so it will be great to see him bring all his experience and mischief to what promises to be a very memorable trip.

With our annual trip to the Panto at the Palladium having filled up in just a few weeks, and with very little chance of me being able to get any additional tickets this year, I wanted to offer another opportunity to enjoy the festive staple and British tradition that is the Christmas Pantomime. Richmond always proves a very popular trip and so do come straight back to me if you would like to join us. With the performance starting at 5.30pm we hope to be back in Dorking by 9pm.
