The Itinerary
Tuesday 19th May – After departing Dorking at 07.00 the group starts the journey to Dover to catch channel crossing to Calais. On arrival on the continent the coach will head direct to Paris to arrive by late afternoon, allowing for a comfort stop en route. Then, having settled into the hotel, the remainder of the day is free. Paris maps are available in the hotel and the front desk staff will point you in the right direction for restaurants, public transport and alike.
Wednesday 20th May – The programme today offers the choice of either free time in the French capital or joining an optional guided tour of the Palace of Versailles. After the tour there will be some free time in Versailles town centre before the coach returns to the hotel. In the evening the coach will provide a transfer into and back from a specifically chosen area of Central Paris. The exact details will be announced on the day and will depend on what time the group gets back to the hotel – see below.
Thursday 21st May – Again the programme today offers the choice of either free time in Paris or joining an optional trip, this time to Monet’s beautiful garden of Giverny, after which the coach will return to the hotel, with the remainder of day being free for independent sightseeing. In the evening the coach will again provide a transfer into and back from a specifically chosen area of Central Paris. The exact details will be announced on the day and will depend on what time in the afternoon the coach gets back to the hotel.
Friday 22nd May – Leaving the hotel after breakfast the coach will drive to the Montmartre district where there will be time to visit the beautiful Sacre Couer Cathedral and watch the artists at work in the picturesque Place du Tertre. Then, after re-boarding the coach, the group return to Calais for the homeward crossing back to the UK. The expected time of arrival at the departure point is 21.15.
Special Note – The drop off and pick-up points will be decided on the day and will depend to a large extent on the traffic conditions and availability of parking slots.
