To Kill A Mockingbird

The Tony Award-winning Broadway production of Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird returns to the West End Wyndham’s Theatre this summer.

Widely considered one of the great classics of modern literature, this adaptation by Oscar winner Aaron Sorkin puts lawyer Atticus Finch at the centre of the narrative as he is offered the opportunity to defend an African American man falsely accused of a horrendous crime. The residents of the fictional town of Maycomb, Alabama, are unimpressed when he takes the case. His daughter Scout watches from the balcony as her father challenges systemic problems in the American criminal justice system.

Filled with deep compassion and overwhelming humanity, this Pulitzer Prize-winning classic has sold over 50 million copies since it was first published in 1960 and has not been out of print since. Inspired by events in Lee’s own life growing up in rural Alabama, the story of racial injustice and the destruction of youthful innocence has never been more prevalent.
