BBC Gardeners’ World Fair
One of the highlights of the spring calendar, why not join us for this day out to the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair at wonderful Beaulieu in the heart of the New Forest. With members of the Gardeners’ World team in attendance, who will you spot sharing inspirational advice and giving talks on the Spring Fair’s stages?
Whether you’re looking for garden ideas, a relaxed day out in Hampshire, or simply want to enjoy the atmosphere of a much-loved Gardeners’ World event, there’s something for everyone. Stroll through floral displays, shop from top nurseries, enjoy live music, and tuck into delicious food and drink from local producers.
If you are feeling peckish, then the BBC Good Food Market could be the place for you, where local street food concessions are available. Or perhaps visit the Brabazon Restaurant & Coffee Shop at Beaulieu. Serving everything from sandwiches and paninis to pizzas, pasta and fish & chips. With homemade cakes and pastries, Jude’s ice cream, and seasonal cold and hot drinks, you’ll be spoilt for choice.
In addition to the Spring Fair, the day includes full access to the Beaulieu attraction, usually priced from £27 per person alone. Home to the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu has so much more to offer in addition, including the Palace House and Gardens, We Had One Of Those, the Secret Army Exhibition and Beaulieu Abbey. Then there are the monorail and veteran bus to take you round the grounds! Subject to availability.
The National Motor Museum houses over 280 cars from the very beginning of motoring to land speed greats and Formula 1 classics. There is even a Cars on Screen exhibition, featuring some of the most famous cars from TV and film. Following a £600,000 project, be one of the first to witness the newly refurbished and redesigned entrance hall and upper ground floor which opens this Easter.
Visit the Palace House. Once the gatehouse of the mediaeval Beaulieu Abbey, it has been the Montagu family’s home since 1538. In an idyllic New Forest setting, overlooking the picturesque Beaulieu River millpond, Palace House was remodelled and extended during the 1800s and is now a fine example of a Victorian country house. Inside, its ecclesiastical heritage sets the grand gothic tone for a home bristling with character and adorned with family treasures, portraits, and memorabilia.
