Royal Philharmonic Orchestra presents ‘S Wonderful

Timeless Love Songs @ Cadogan Hall

The RPO’s annual celebration of love songs is back!

From the dim lights of New York City jazz clubs to the glimmering marquees of old Hollywood, the Great American Songbook has illuminated some of the world’s most romantic and glamorous places. This Valentine’s Day, take a trip with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and be transported to a time when dance halls swelled with swing rhythms and love songs floated out of theatres late into the evening.

Lush orchestral arrangements meet heart-melting melodies, popularised by great performers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, Billie Holiday, Tony Bennett and Judy Garland, including: ‘So in Love’, ‘Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye’, ‘My Funny Valentine’, ‘The Way You Look Tonight’, ‘Someone to Watch Over Me’, ‘It Had to Be You’, ‘A Fine Romance’, ‘The Lady is a Tramp’, and more.

Showstopping soloists Sumudu Jayatilaka and Iain Mackenzie and sparkling conductor Richard Balcombe will bring the music to life.

Whether you are a regular attendee of orchestral events or simply looking for a romantic evening of music for that someone special, whether you’re attending as part of a group or flying sensationally solo, this captivating concert – back by popular demand – is the perfect fit for all.

Set in the heart of Chelsea, just off Sloane Square, Cadogan Hall has become one of London’s leading venues. The Hall’s excellent acoustics and luxurious surroundings make it the first choice for both classical and contemporary music alike. This will be our first visit as a group to Cadogan Hall, and as anyone who has been before will testify, it really is a beautiful hall to visit. Being an afternoon performance, we should be back in Dorking around a very sensible 8pm.
