The Carpenters – Voice of the Heart

Dinner and Concert – The Mill at Sonning
With much of the original structure retained, this 18th Century Flour Mill has been converted into a renowned Dinner Theatre. Patrons enjoy a fresh home-cooked meal – with not a microwave in sight! – before watching the performance in the 215 seat air-conditioned auditorium.
Pre-dinner drinks with a view of The Thames or watching the working Waterwheel in the bar, is an added treat.
Following the success of our previous Sunday Night Concerts at Sonning, this time we get to enjoy the beautiful music and melodies of The Carpenters.
One of the biggest selling duos of the 70s and ranked as the tenth greatest duo of all time by Rolling Stone magazine, The Carpenters consisted of siblings Richard and Karen. Their recording career spanned 14 years until Karen’s untimely death in 1983 at the age of just 32. They received a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and have been cited as an influence by a diverse array of artists for the past 5 decades.
The classy show includes the stunning voice of Carole Gordon plus her 6-piece band. Performing all the Carpenters Hits, Top of the World, Mr Postman, Ticket to Ride, Yesterday Once More, Jambalaya and many more.
Having won ‘UK’s Most Welcoming Theatre’ three years in a row, we are assured our usual first-class experience enjoying a home-cooked two course meal before the show followed by tea or coffee.
