Warners @ Bembridge, IOW
Following our many popular Warners short breaks in recent years and having received requests to return to their coastal hotel at Bembridge on the Isle of Wight, I am pleased to say we have the opportunity to return, this Autumn. Interest has already proved strong and with single rooms in particular, always difficult to come by, do let me know as soon as you can, should you wish to join us.
Famous for their nightly entertainment, daily leisure activities and with a great reputation for food and customer service, Warners has been entertaining its guests for 90 years, with all their properties becoming adult only in 1994. Our 4 night / 5 day stay at the Bembridge Coast Hotel on the Isle of Wight will see us benefit from all the usual things you would expect on a Warner Leisure Hotels break. Whilst precise details might change slightly, we expect to visit the beautiful picture postcard village of Godshill when we arrive on the Isle of Wight and the equally beautiful Shanklin en route to getting the ferry home on the Friday. In addition, there will be at least two optional excursions for those that want to take advantage of them. Our excursions are left as optional as I know some people will have been to the Isle of Wight before and may not wish to join us on them but make the most of the 23 acres of grounds and optimal coastal position that the hotel offers, just metres from the lapping, glistening Solent.
Our optional excursions will be a day at Osborne House and a trip on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. We may have a free day at the hotel for our third full day on the Island, but I hope to include a trip to the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary situated directly opposite the beautiful Sandown Beach. for anyone that is interested.
The basic cost of the trip will be £599 per person based on two sharing a twin or double standard room. For all other room types, please contact me for the options available. Please see right for a more detailed itinerary and what is included in the price.

YOUR ITINERARY
MONDAY – will find us leaving from behind the Dorking Halls at 9am, with a view to avoiding the worst of the rush hour traffic and ensuring a relaxing journey as we head to Southampton to catch our lunchtime ferry crossing. On arrival at East Cowes we will take the short journey to Godshill where we hope to spend a couple of hours enjoying what is one of the most beautiful villages on the Island. When done we will head to the hotel with time to check-in and acquaint ourselves with the surroundings before dinner and of course the evening entertainment.
TUESDAY – today we hope to have the chance to visit Wildheart Animal Santuary. Situated directly opposite the renowned and beautifully sandy Sandown Beach, either join us for our time at the Animal Sanctuary or take advantage of the return coach journey and do your own thing upon arrival. Sandown Pier and the town centre are a 15–25-minute stroll away. The cost of entry and an introductory talk at the Wildheart Animal Sanctuary will be in the region of £19.50 per person.
WEDNESDAY – our mid-week optional excursion gives us the opportunity of an afternoon journey on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway. With a guided tour of the railway before our return steam train ride, the afternoon excursion will cost £22.50 per person.
THURSDAY – our final full day on the island sees us heading to Osborne House. A favourite of both Queen Victoria and the Queen Mother, Osborne House has plenty to see. Leaving the hotel after breakfast, we plan to allow enough time to enjoy all that Osborne House has to offer. With time to relax in their restaurant or café as well, we will spend around 5 hours at Osborne House before returning to our hotel with time to spare before dinner and the nightly entertainment. This excursion is free to English Heritage members on presentation of a valid membership card. For non-members it is likely to be around £27.50, subject to age.
FRIDAY – leaving the hotel at 9.15am, we will take in the lovely village of Shanklin. With approximately two hours to enjoy this picturesque village, we will then head north to East Cowes to catch our lunchtime ferry back to Southampton. Heading straight home having arrived back on the mainland, we anticipate being back to Dorking at around 5.15pm.
